Andrew W. Stavros is the founder of Stavros Law, a boutique law firm focused on providing business, employment and health care law. Mr. Stavros' practice includes both litigation and counseling in the areas of business law and commercial litigation, employment law and employment litigation, and health care law and health care litigation.

For the past decade Mr. Stavros' practice has been primarily limited to business, employment and health care law matters. His health care law experience includes assisting health care practitioners, providers, suppliers and institutions with the development of comprehensive compliance programs (e.g., fraud and abuse, billing and reimbursement, HIPAA and patient privacy), structuring medical practices, independent facility developments, joint ventures, strategic affiliations and other business arrangements to comply with the federal Stark law, Anti-kickback law and related federal and state laws and regulations, and counseling clients regarding government (Medicare and Medicaid), commercial health care insurance and self-pay health care arrangements. Mr. Stavros also has experience defending fraud, abuse and waste case, billing and reimbursement matters, licensing and audits. As part of his employment practice, Mr. Stavros counsels, assists and trains health care practitioners and providers to comply with federal and state employment laws affecting the health care industry. He has counseled health care clients and other entities on developing and implementing employee handbooks, personnel policies and other critical personnel documents. He also regularly assists clients with negotiating, drafting and implementing employment contracts and related agreements, including recruitment agreements, medical director agreements, supervision agreements and ancillary service agreements.

Mr. Stavros' employment law experience includes discrimination and harassment, wage and hour, state and federal leave, privacy and confidentiality, wrongful termination, whistleblower, retaliation, labor-management relations, breach of contract, fiduciary duty and related claims. Mr. Stavros appears frequently in state and federal court, before administrative bodies and in arbitration and mediations of employment matters for both employers and employees.

Mr. Stavros' business law and commercial litigation experience includes assisting small and growing businesses with every day legal matters, including entity formation, joint ventures, acquisitions, contracts, licensing, commercial disputes, complex commercial litigation, breach of contract, partnership and closely-held business disputes, false advertising, fraud and misrepresentation cases, unfair competition, non-compete, non-disclosure and non-circumvention matters, mechanic's liens, warranties and many other business-related issues. Mr. Stavros appears frequently in state and federal court, before administrative bodies and in arbitration and mediations of business matters.

Mr. Stavros is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and the Utah State Bar. He is a graduate of the S. J. Quinney College of Law, University of Utah. While there, he was a William H. Leary Scholar, Traynor Moot Court Champion and Region XI National Moot Court Champion.

Before founding Stavros Law, Mr. Stavros was a co-founder of a three attorney firm in Salt Lake City, Utah and an associate with a large Salt Lake City, Utah based law firm.
